Women’s World Banking invests in financial institutions and other financial solutions in emerging markets to create greater prosperity for women, their families and their communities. WWB Fund I is their first fund, making strategic minority equity investments in women-focused inclusive microfinance institutions. Women’s World Banking Fund I’s objective is to ensure the MFIs in which the Fund makes investments continue to provide client-oriented financial services to increasing numbers of poor people, especially women, in a rational, sustainable and profitable manner. They work with institutions to build strong, gender-diverse teams to effectively serve the women’s market, create local solutions that meet women’s needs, and invest in women-focused financial institutions.
