Root Capital

Founded in 1999, Root Capital, Inc. is a non-profit, social investment organisation providing loans to agribusinesses in Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Most clients operate in areas where income is typically less than $5.5 per person per day and 40% where income is less than $3.2 per person per day. In addition to reducing poverty, Root’s work also increases farmers’ resilience against the impact of climate change through initiatives such as training on climate-smart agricultural practices.
